W/B 3rd Feb 14

This week I have a meeting with Dejan to discuss my final ideas and to see the progress which I have made. I had a photo shoot on Friday the 30th with two models Izzi Bailey and Izzi Nash. The original idea was to explore split personality disorders, using Izzi Nash as the main model and to change her look 3-4 times whilst having Izzi Bailey’s look stay the same in each shot. Bailey is a visual representation of the damaging and dangerous side of the condition. Makeup and wigs worked very well, the lighting was perfect and one which I will use is most of my images to create a sense of continuity throughout the magazine. The models were good so I know to use them again, the time scale for the shoot was from 5pm until 9pm which is too long so I may enquire about a first year to assist.  I edited the pictures myself which look professional.

The meeting with Dejan highlighted that the content of the magazine should have a more solid construction. We decided to change the running theme throughout the magazine on the changing emotions and feelings which occur when going through heartbreak.
Last year I split with with my long term boyfriend of nearly three years therefore I have first hand experience and can project this through my images and into each concept/emotion. As well as the memories I still have diary entries and conversations which I can look over as primary and personal research.
This particular photoshoot can also be related to heartbreak because of the mental health link when you experience a breakup. The depression and the dark side after you experience severe emotional pain.
The shoot which I will be doing this week will be using a raw steak which will be held to look like a human heart. With this idea being refresh out of my mind and also having first-hand experience of heartbreak throughout my second year of university, I can project my own personal experience into my work making personal and others will be able to relate to each series shot within the final print.

·         Choose 5 final images from the previous test shoot for final project

·         Create another shoot and take in images for next week’s meeting

·         Play around with makeup and hair to explore how to show each emotion with colours and application

·         Drawings and face charts and brain storm ideas
